Course description

IGF Basic Training

Target group

The IGF Basic Course is intended for all seafarers with safety-related duties on board a ship covered by the IGF Code.

Requirements

Basic Safety Certificate
Certificate of fitness for sea service

Content

- legal bases
- Basic physical and chemical knowledge of liquefied gases
- Dangers and risks
- Equipment of gas-powered ships
- Bunkering of liquid gases

including the fire module required by the BSH (Shore Based Fire Fighter)

Certification

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance after successful participation, which can be exchanged for a certificate of competency at the BSH.

IGF Advanced Training

Target group

Masters, officers and engineers with direct responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems shall hold a certificate in Advanced Training in accordance with STCW §7.

  • Gas theory and fuel properties
  • Complex process simulation
  • Bunker planning exercise
